Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between you and BRAIN 2.0 LTD. ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 15493887, at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom, covering your use of Halo. By creating an account you accept them. How we handle your data is covered separately in our privacy policy.

What Halo is

Halo stores your personal context as structured facts and makes them available to AI assistants you connect, so those assistants can answer with knowledge of your actual situation. Halo provides the storage, the structure and the retrieval. It performs no AI inference of its own; the intelligence comes from the assistant you connect, using your own subscription with that provider.

Halo is in beta

This matters more than the usual boilerplate, so read it rather than skipping it. During beta:

  • Features may change, move or be removed.
  • We make no uptime commitment. There is no service level agreement.
  • Do not let Halo be the only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. Your brain lives on a single storage volume, which is not replicated across machines. Export regularly, from your dashboard, and keep the file somewhere you control. The export button exists precisely so this is easy.

We would rather you go in with the right expectations than discover them after a bad day. When Halo leaves beta these terms will be updated and you will be told.

Your account

You need an account, you must give an accurate email address, and you are responsible for keeping your password safe. Anyone who can sign in as you can read your entire brain, so use a strong, unique password and enable any additional protection we offer. Tell us promptly at info@braintwopoint0.com if you think someone else has access.

During beta, accounts are created by invitation. You may not share your account or resell access to it.

Your content stays yours

You keep all rights to everything you put into Halo. You grant us only the narrow, revocable permission we need in order to run the service for you: to store your content, index it so it can be searched, and serve it back to you and to the assistants you have authorised. That permission exists for no other purpose. It does not extend to training models, building datasets, or showing your content to anyone else, and it ends when you delete the content or your account.

You are responsible for what you store. In particular, if you store personal information about other people, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so.

The assistant you connect

Connecting an assistant means authorising a third party to read from and write to your brain. That company's terms and privacy policy govern what it does with what it reads, and we are not a party to that relationship. We cannot control an assistant's behaviour, and we are not responsible for what it does with your facts, including if it records something inaccurate or acts on a fact you would not have chosen.

You can revoke a connection at any time. Facts an assistant has already stored remain yours to review, correct or delete.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • store or transmit anything unlawful, or anything you have no right to hold;
  • attempt to reach another user's brain, or any part of our systems you have not been given access to;
  • probe, scan or test our security without our written permission, or circumvent our rate limits and usage bounds;
  • place disproportionate load on the service, whether deliberately or through automated use;
  • use Halo to build a competing service from our own content or structure.

Halo applies rate limits and size bounds to keep the service usable for everyone. They are a practical necessity on shared infrastructure, not a commercial gate, and we will adjust them as capacity allows.

Price

Halo is free during beta. Hosting is the thing we intend to charge for, and if we introduce a paid plan we will tell you by email before any charge is made, and you will be able to decline and export your data. We will not start charging for something you are already using without asking first.

Ending it

You may stop using Halo and delete your account at any time, from your account settings. Export first if you want a copy; deletion removes your brain.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to by law. Except where doing so would be unlawful or would defeat the purpose, we will give you notice and a reasonable opportunity to export your data first. We may also discontinue Halo entirely, in which case we will give you at least 30 days' notice and keep export working throughout.

What we do not promise

Halo is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that recall will always surface the fact you had in mind. Nothing here excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits or lost business, or for loss of data where you had a reasonable opportunity to export it and did not. Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the previous twelve months, or one hundred pounds sterling. During a free beta, that will usually mean the latter, which is another reason to keep your own exports.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date above will change, and for material changes we will notify you by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Halo after that means you accept the new terms; if you do not, you can export and close your account.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not remove any protection you have under the law of the country where you live.
